Our theme is "Things we want to talk about right now." We host events with guest speakers and publish articles covering everything from the planning and production background of creative work to working environments, our relationship with society, and what we can do to make an impact.🤍

The theme for our 5th event is "Why World Contraception Day is the Perfect Time to Talk About 'Boundaries'."
September 26th, "World Contraception Day," is a day for global awareness campaigns aimed at improving education on contraception and sexual health, and supporting choices based on accurate information. Contraception is not just about pregnancy control; it is the foundation of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and a vital issue that concerns everyone's dignity and way of life.
However, in Japan, comprehensive sex education is still not widespread, and due to the history of viewing "sex" as a taboo subject, there is still a lack of accurate information and safe spaces to discuss it. Many people struggle with uncertainty, asking themselves, "How should I talk about contraception?", "How do I get consent?", or "Am I even allowed to enjoy sex?"
This is where the concept of "boundaries" becomes so important.
Boundaries are the "comfortable lines" we draw between ourselves and others. This includes physical boundaries—like "I'm okay with this, but no further"—as well as emotional boundaries, such as "I don't want to talk about that today." Understanding and respecting each other's boundaries is the foundation for confirming consent and having honest, safe conversations about sex.
In this event, we will bring together people working in sexual products and education, as well as interested participants, to create a space for open, frank discussion and mutual learning. By hearing voices and perspectives you might not encounter in your daily life, we hope this event will spark new insights and inspire your next step forward.
Because it is World Contraception Day, we are starting with the topic of "boundaries." We want to work together to create a space where sex can be discussed safely, and take the first step toward making contraception a more normalized, natural part of life in Japan.
