"Thinking About Politics Post-Election: Our Action Meeting" is happening!🗳️

Creative Studio koko is hosting the 4th edition of our event, koko no me🌱.

“koko no me” is a space where people involved in "creating and delivering" can exchange their individual thoughts, perspectives, and emotions; a place to explore paths toward the world we wish to live in, starting from where we are right now, and to empower one another.

Our theme is "Things we want to talk about right now." We host events with guests and publish articles focusing on topics such as the planning process and background of creative work, the work environment, our relationship with society, and what we can do.🤍

The theme for our 4th event is: "Thinking About Politics Post-Election: Our Action Meeting".

The House of Councillors election was held on July 20, 2025.

Each election cycle, the low voter turnout, particularly among the youth, becomes a topic of discussion. On social media, you often hear voices saying, "What will one vote change?" or "I don't feel like my voice is being heard."

At the same time, policies that promote the exclusion of foreigners and rhetoric that fuels social division have become more prominent, and there are more instances where individual dignity and the right to live with peace of mind are threatened.

Facing such a reality, it may be only natural to feel that your voice or position is small, or that you are powerless to do anything.

However, politics is not for a select few; it is fundamentally something that should be shaped by the voices of each and every one of us.

In this event, now that the election is over, we will think about what we feel and what actions we can take from here on out.

"Raising your voice is by no means easy."

While standing on that premise, we will re-examine the significance of having opinions, taking action, and expressing our intentions.

Putting the confusion you feel into words.
Taking a step with peers that was difficult to take alone.
We hope this will be that kind of time.

ー

We encourage you to join us if:👀

  • You have feelings of discomfort or confusion regarding the current state of politics and society.
  • You feel tired or powerless due to the election.
  • You want to raise your voice but don't know how to move forward.
  • You are thinking about your next step after the election.
  • You are struggling with dialogue with those around you or building a community.
